Does your hotel have a soundtrack?

I know, I know…I promised to be exclusively guest blogging this week on the new Blog for Guests site to promote our free ebook. But in my work with the Hotel Design gallery, I came across something very cool that The Opposite House is doing in Beijing.
The Opposite House has released oppositehouse Vol 1, a CD of 10 tracks by some of China’s young and talented musicians. This limited edition album was specially created for guests to enjoy in-house and is not for sale. There are also plans in the pipeline to produce oppositehouse Vol 2.
According to GM Anthony Ross,
Creating this CD featuring these really talented young musicians extends our support for contemporary Chinese art of all kinds. It also adds another dimension to the way we strive to create an all-encompassing lifestyle in Beijing.
Sampling local music is one of my favorite activities when abroad. For a hotel, assembling an exclusive soundtrack for guests to enjoy is a brilliant lifestyle marketing tactic.
Could your hotel pull it off?

Great posting, Josiah.
Branded music is mandatory for hotels that hope for an authentic sensory experience. The right music should create a personality that adds to their brand narrative. Beyond building ambiance in the lobby, restaurants, bars and spa, music offers a way for hotels to extend their brand into their guests’ lives long after their stay. CDs are still great premiums and promotional tools, but they only reach the guests that are already at the hotel. There are many ways music can be used to influence the purchase decisions before guests decide to book a room or before they arrive to your hotel.
Music should be added to existing and emerging “Hotel Marketing Strategies” like company websites and social networks so the brand name remains heard. This is what we do at Hook Audio. Besides onsite music programming and custom CDs, we offer solutions for hotels to share branded music on social networks and mobile phones. By creating and sharing this more meaningful content, hotels build deeper, emotional connections with people and sometimes even encourage bloggers to spread their message.
We love your blog over here. Keep writing, we’ll keep reading. All the best…
Sound affects,

Very interesting blog! Do you know they release a new CD in April this year? I think that the first was a success.
