Hotelier Highlights: July 3-9

Welcome to round three of our hotelier highlights Saturday feature: the week’s best hotel marketing posts, tech news, photos, and any other inspiring or entertaining stories that we stumbled across.

    Katie, were you unable to have the links open in a new window ? That would really help.

    All you need to do on the WordPress Editor is click on the link and then select “Open in a new window” and then Insert…

      1. Click on Insert / Edit Link

      2. Click on Target

      3. Choose dropdown option nr 2 – Open Link in a new window !

      And Bingo !!!

    • And I agree that “social media in general” posts can get a bit stale for those of us who already accept its merit.

      I’m glad you enjoyed Isabelle’s interview — she’s certainly a successful real-world example for hoteliers working with… mmm… “Smocial Shmedia”

      I’ll think on more ways to share step by step marketing processes. And of course, I’m thrilled you enjoyed the links; you should submit a photo to our Flickr so I can “highlight” you next week!

      Every new addition that we entrepreneurs make should give us a ROI. And in that sense, Josiah is certainly very lucky to have you on board Katie !

  • I am really thinking of quitting Twitter and simply waiting for your links every Saturday, Katie ;)

    I loved how the iPad makes life easier for guests – that is what technology and this blog is all about isn’t it ?

    Travelling as a vegetarian had some really handy tips for all my veggie friends out there…though why someone would choose greens over a T Bone is still a mystery to me ;)

    Trust is a major issue for any business so we hoteliers really need to leverage social networks to build our trust…

    Being your biggest fan will definitely come in handy when you are a bit down! What you really need to do is toss the script aside and react naturally to a downturn as Daniel Craig (not 007 ;) explains so well

    That said, I am really beginning to hate the term “social media” and blog posts about “social media in general”. So much has been written about the “Importance of Social Media” that we get it…really !

    Now what we need is individual examples of how to leverage “Social Media” to our advantage…something you give us in great abundance every Saturday night, Katie !

  • Thanks for this post. I prefer posting comments myself. There are certain benefits of doing this. Firstly I read the post and that way I gain knowledge and experience. If I find something interesting, I can add it to my favorite list. Since I post the comments I m sure about myself and that gives me peace of mind.
