That indie dude understands Twitter

I love how That INDIE Dude includes Twitter into his site design:

This is so much more compelling than the standard “Follow us on Twitter” button. Or even this site, for that matter.

What if you created a similar illustration for your social media ambassador?

Or had your hotel mascot tweeting out one message at a time like this?

Or created a separate one-page website on its own domain to encourage your Twitter following?

I’d like to see more creative Twitter integrations like this. Mashable has some more examples.

  • Are you sure THAT Indie Dude got it right ?

While I love the idea of an illustration and a speech bubble, in my book it is still tweeted and NOT twittered. Twittered just sounds wrong.

But your post did get me thinking.

Hence as part of my Speak Human philosophy, on my website http://www.mitaroygoahotel.com, I used an actual photo of myself instead of a cartoon figure.

Since I find myself using Twitter more and more as simply a way to speak my mind rather than a “special” social media tool, I made no mention of Twitter and instead of using the regular “Follow me on Twitter” or “Twitter Updates”, I have simply used “Mihir says”.

Does that sound more personal ? Does one have to mention Twitter or tweets when all I am using Twitter for is to speak my mind ?

Id love to hear your thoughts on this one…

    Cheers

  • Just changed the number of tweets from 3 to just 1.

Thanks to you, I got thinking.

In a regular conversation, people only make 1 point at a time. So why should my Twitter feed be any different ?

Still thinking of ways to personalise my Twitter feed even further…and its in the middle of the night here in Goa :)

    Cheers
    Mihir
