- Why Guillaume created a Facebook page for his blog

- Should you let guests know about your Facebook page at check-in?
- Why you should register your name on every social media platform – even if you won’t use it right now

Prefer the mp3 to listen while exercising or commuting? I do, too. Here’s the download.

Dear Josiah, I am following your blog since a long time ago, also I bought some of your books.
I worked 1 year with Mariquel Waingarten @ Tailor Made Hotel in Buenos Aires, and after that experience I went to Africa (Tanzania) and since July 2009 I am working for two lodges located in Mafia Island.
Pls check our site and let me know your opinion.
We are going to include Globekey (booking online) soon!
I look forward to hearing from you.
All my best from Buenos Aires,
Manuel
Very cool, Manuel – what was your role with Tailor Made Hotel?
And yes, we’d be happy to review your site on this week’s show. Thanks for the suggestion.
I was in charge of the Personal Concierge Programme and also involved in the marketing online + social media activity.
I live in Buenos Aires, but now I am working for Mafia Island (Tanzania).
Try to check and review our sites and let us know your opinion (Note: Booking online is on the way….globekey)….www.mafiaisland.com / and the sites of our lodges that are connected directly with that site.
Is a pleasure….

All my best from BA,
Hi Josiah, Guillaume
With regard to your comments on banner advertising after your viewings on UTube. I like the idea, because I would rather have relevant advertising coming at me than something I am not interested in. I also think we have to come to terms with the fact that “privacy” as we know it is dead! Once you enter the world of social media you are out there for all to see.
Geraldine
Hey Josiah, thanks for all the information – am working on implementing adwords soon for our hotels. One suggestion for following videos – could you index it with video-jumps so that one could access directly the segment of the video (question in particular) one is interested in?
In good health,
Gabriel
Good idea! I’ll see what we can do…
Gabriel — thanks to your great suggestion, we’re adding a video-jump index from here on out!
I personally prefer to read content, and am happy to help J make everything on HMS even more accessible for you all.
Cheers to your good health, as well
Katie
OMG Katie, we are indeed like two peas in a pod
I have been trying for quite a while to get J to transcribe ALL his video and audio blog posts for those of us who prefer to read content and/or have technical issues accessing other forms of content.
Accessibility is key and I feel really bad that I keep missing out on J’s great shows with Guillaume and his other video interviews.
But I live in hope…
Cheers
Mihir
Gabriel and Mihir,
I’d love it if you could check out J and Guillaume’s most recent video and let me know if the transcription helps. They’re a bit time-intensive — the only reason we don’t do them for every interview, but your feedback shows that the extra effort adds a lot of value, and we’ll make all of this information even more accessible to Insider’s Circle members, too.
And Mihir, now that you’re (officially) joining the Insider’s Circle, you’ll get access to our very best content — excited to hear your feedback on everything!
I did see it before I wrote this comment Katie but the transcript is a bit confusing since there are only bits and pieces.
I am sure that there is a software that does automatic transcriptions for audio interviews. A full transcript would be really great.
Hahahaha I like the ‘officially’. Was I already part of the Insider Circle before ?
I asked J to give me the log in details but no luck as yet…I am sure you have done an amazing job as usual Katie
Cheers
Mihir
P.S Did you see my blog response to the 43 questions J asked about website design optimization ?
Mihir — “confusing”? Oh dear, good to know! The thing about transcription software, is that it still requires quite a bit of editing and formating, and therefore isn’t much quicker than a hand-typed and edited synopsis.
Besides that, there’s a big reasons we prefer an outline format to a full transcript: the full text would be ridiculously long and a lot of information for a casual reader to skim through, in search of the “big ideas” and actionable tips.
That said, I can see making it available through the Insider’s Circle so detail-seeking Shakers like yourself can access as much as possible.
And yes, I did consider you to be an “Insider” before, and hope J gets you logged in soon!
I did see your response to those awesome 43 questions, and loved how you broke everything down on your site — you seem to be on the right track, and you’ll maybe inspire others to look at specific ways to improve their sites, too!
Katie
Yes, Katie, unfortunately quite confusing.
Like J said on his 43 questions, maybe you could do the entire transcript and then highlight the important points in bold or maybe a different colour. I plan to do the same for my website copy. That way people have access to the entire information and those who just want to skim through can do so as well. I think it’s all about giving people more options. The days of 5 items on a McDonalds Menu seem to be over…
Thanks for the kind words. I do hope to answer ALL the 43 questions positively sometime soon.
I hope J gets me logged in soon too. See you on the inside
Cheers
Mihir
