(And the “.5″ user…) A few months ago I opened a Twitter account dedicated to providing free hotel marketing advice. It’s been a great experience, and last night we passed the 1,000 friends mark. I invite you to connect with me as well….

This is a wonderfully comprehensive list, and I thank you for introducing me to several hotel groups that “get it.” I, too, began actively tweeting just a couple of months ago, and have found it to be quite an experience. I’m approaching 900 followers – most in travel and social media – and I’m enjoying the conversation. The commonality between all of these favorites is their willingness to engage in dialog – share useful information, and promote intelligently. I’m looking forward to seeing this list grow, over time. Please follow me as well, @susantravels.
Good list, some of these hotels really see the benefits of using social media contact direct with the users. Also check out my b&b in Venice @faronhof
We like @GaylordPalms too, in Orlando.
I must say, I am really stunned. I pretty much consider you the tip top, sir… and you dinged me twice! I am fairly certain you didn’t know I was with one of the hotels you mentioned? Whatever the case, I appreciate that I am not just total dissonance. =)
It is scary now on twitter…. you never know if the people who are following you want to hear you what you say, or want to sell you something (thanks @mjnesta). I say that pretty self-aware because someone asked me to repost a couple old blogs and I look like I have been trying to sell myself all day.
Whatever the case, assuming you didn’t make a mistake with me…. the rest of your list is utterly top notch. Some of those properties are doing such a good job. Something to aspire to, to be sure.
Cheers, thanks, and always awesome information and data!
Thanks for the mention – I am honored to be on the list as there are so many amazing hotel consultants out there. Happy to see the Opus Hotel in Vancouver making the list as the former GM one of the first that had his own blog – and since I can see the hotel from my balcony of my condo in Yaletown. You should also add @beijingfairmont. For a hotel that has not even opened yet, in a country where Twittering is fairly new, it is impressive that they were able to interest over 1000 followers in a very short time. Looking forward to meeting the marketing brains at the Fairmont Beijing in a couple of weeks, when I am back in my new home Beijing. But also from a corporate standpoint, @fairmonthotels is doing a great job on Twitter with almost 3000 followers (and some really quality tweets I must add).
we are excited to be join twitter as well.

Thanks for the post and to put me on the list
You find some great Twitter account.
In France, Twitter isn’t at the same level than US or english speaking country. But, I see some tourism operator who start to use it or think about it.
Best
Claude
Thanks Joisiah for the inclusion of @MacdonaldHotels in your Multi Property List, we as a chain do see the value of Social Media & have also added @BotleyPark( Single Property offering )
We are a company that engage everyday with many guests from all walks of life and find it the most enjoyable job of a life time & see Social Media use as an extension of the thing we do well everyday.
We would like to let your know of another list published by Travel Trade Gazette in the UK, hosted by @Matt_Parsons this list hosts many other influential hotels throughout the World Market of Hospitality. http://journeysthroughtravel.com/the-travel-industry-and-twitter-part-3/

SIR ( @MacdonaldHotels & @BotleyPark )
Hi Josiah!
Thank you so much for shouting us as a reference
Thank you Susan, Chris, Guido, and Nuno!
@Michael – No mistake…I love your work with Cavallo Point!
@Jens – Thanks for the pointer. I’ll definitely check their stream out. It’s interesting to see a hotel using Twitter as part of their launch plan.
@Claude – I’ll be interested to see how Twitter spreads in France in the months ahead…
@SIR – I like how you have profiles for the chain and the individual property. I think there is slightly different purposes for the two, so it’s useful to maintain two accounts.
Thanks Josiah for the list!
We started with our account @ecotulum two months ago and it’s being really useful to contact travelers and other guys in the travel industry. Now I’m getting lots of ideas from your @list, Thanks!
Also check @UlaaPatagonia , rather new around Twitter
